Calcification beyond basal ganglia is rare in postoperative permanent hypoparathyroidism. We report extensive bilateral intracranial calcifications involving basal ganglia, thalamus, cerebellum, and cerebral cortex in a 56-year-old lady who presented with carpopedal spasm, seizure, and severe hypocalcemia after 20 years of near-total thyroidectomy.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a fearsome infectious disease which cause some excessive complications along with it. the authors present a case of acute invasive rhino-orbital mucormycosis in a 62-year-old man with severe COVID-19 pneumonia, who had a history of uncontrolled diabetes mellitus along with ketoacidosis and nephropathy.

Gastric MALT lymphoma is a common type of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma that has the potential for cure in patients found to have concomitant Helicobacter pylori infection.1,2 This case report explores the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of H. pylori negative MALT lymphoma in a patient with a history of a RYGB.

Waldenström Macroglobulinemia (WM)/lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma (LPL) is often differentiated from myeloma based on the presence of lytic bone lesions (LBL). However, WM/LPL can present with LBL and management is poorly understood. We describe a case of an 81-year-old woman with LPL who presented with LBL and was successfully treated with chemoimmunotherapy.

We present a case of successful revascularization for spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) using coronary artery fenestration followed by the subintimal transcatheter withdrawal (STRAW) technique. The combination of the STRAW technique and coronary artery fenestration with cutting balloon angioplasty could be a new treatment option for SCAD patients requiring revascularization.

ST-segment changes may provide a clue to the presence of pneumopericardium accompanying SPM. These EKG changes associated with SPM are rare. The management in SPM with concurrent pneumopericardium is mainly supportive. We describe two SP cases with concomitant pneumopericardium that presented with a deceptive clinical spectrum, closely mimicking acute pericarditis.

Although pneumothorax is a well-known complication of COVID-19 pneumonia especially in patients requiring mechanical ventilation, bronchopleural fistula causing persistent pneumothorax in sole COVID-19 pneumonia is extremely rare. In this case, we illustrate that bronchopleural fistula can be found in COVID-19 pneumonia, even with no risk factors nor mechanical ventilation administration.

We recommend carrying out a detailed history and evaluation for recent or past COVID-19 infection in patients presenting with Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SSNHL) since SSNHL could be a sequelae of COVID-19 as in our case and timely diagnosis and intervention could significantly improve hearing and quality of life.

Creutzfeldt – Jakob disease (CJD) is a rare neurodegenerative disease with complex clinical manifestations. Neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS) is a complication of antipsychotic medications which are used to treat neuropsychiatric symptoms of CJD. We present a case of a 51-year-old woman with CJD who developed NMS after being prescribed quetiapine.

We present a case of a 6-year-old girl arriving at the hospital with dyspnea and pleuritic chest pain, which is eventually diagnosed with massive pericardial effusion due to mediastinal non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
